Billiat is yet to commit to a new contract at Chloorkop, and with the Zimbabwe international fast approaching his last six months at the club, several clubs have been keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old. But while Billiat has been previously linked with numerous several moves abroad, according to reports a local move could also be on the cards as the ambitious Cape Town City look to join the party.
However, reports further state that there has been no formal approach as City are monitoring the situation and could pounce in the new year should Billiat head for the exit door. Other reports also indicate that the two clubs could potentially be open to a swap deal with the Citizens Aubrey Ngoma moving in the opposite direction as Sundowns’ coach Pitso Mosimane has never hidden his admiration for the winger.
Nonetheless, if the Brazilians fail to tie down Billiat before the turn of the year, due to the fact that he will enter into his final six months at Sundowns, rules allow for him to open up pre-contract talks with whosoever he wishes, and could leave Sundowns for free at the end of the season.
