Can Aduana salvage their continental campaign at home?

Goal Ghana
The Ogya Boys are without a point in the group stage but they have all what it takes to move up on the log against the Green Eagles

Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars will play their first-ever home game in Caf Confederation Cup group stage at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Wednesday when Moroccan side Raja Casablanca come visiting. The Fire Boys are arguably the minnows in Group A which comprises of Asec Mimosas, A.S Vita and Raja.

Aduana remain the only side without a point following a narrow defeat to Asec on matchday one, but things were not all that bad.

Their defence was a bit sloppy in the first half, particularly on the left where Justice Anane was in charge, and his mistake saw Amed 'Simba' Toure capitalising on one occasion to head in the only goal of the game.

However, Aduana have made NAB Park a fortress and, it's without a doubt that they are one of the best clubs out there when playing in front of their fans.

In all competitions this season, Aduana have scored 23 goals at home in seven games and conceded only five, with just one in inter-club competitions.

One more thing the Ghanaian side boasts of is an all-round attacking prowess that is not built around an individual player, so even on a dry day a goal could come through any player.

Raja, on the other hand, have experienced one of their worst seasons in the Moroccan Botola Pro. They have failed to find the cutting edge in their recent games and are without a win in their last three games leading to chaotic scenes involving their supporters.

The Green Eagles sit sixth with 45 points and would need a miracle on final day to qualify to play in Caf Confederation Cup.

With A.S Vita Club facing Asec in DR Congo in the other game of the group, there is pressure on the Ghanaian champions since a win for any of the two sides will further widen the gap at the top and make progress more complicated.

However, Aduana's supporters have all the reasons to be optimistic of a win over Raja.
