Nzoia Sugar chairman Yappets Mokua has confirmed Rupia's departure from the club

Nzoia Sugar striker Elvis Rupia is set to join Zambian club Power Dynamos, the club have confirmed.

Rupia, the season's leading-scorer, is in Zambia to complete the move after the side triggered close to Sh1.5 million release clause.

Nzoia Sugar chairman Yappets Mokua has confirmed Rupia's departure from the club. "He had a release clause and Dynamos have triggered it. We have allowed him to join them because his mind was already made up.

“I believe other players in the team like Yakhama (Brian) and Kwitonda (Patrick) will step up and fill the void he left," Mokua told Goal.

The former Nakuru All Stars hitman has scored 15 goals for Nzoia so far this season.
