Kariobangi Sharks will have to navigate through the first leg match of the Caf Confederation Cup minus their influential duo.
Coach William Muluya has exclusively told Goal that lead striker Erick Kapaito and skipper Erick Juma will not play a part in their first leg match against Artar Solar of Djibouti at the Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday.
The duo have been ruled out following a calf and an ankle injury as Muluya puts it. “Yes, Kapaito is out following a calf injury, it is the same thing that put him out in the final of FKF Shield Cup against Sofapaka and it seems he has not healed well. For Juma it is an ankle injury, that is what has kept him out.
“I have faith and believe in the available players and I know they can definately deliver; remember we did not have Kapaito in the finals, and Juma has been out for some time and the team did well. We have competitive players who can do the job and get the result we need,” Muluya told Goal.com.
The match against Arta will be played as from 4.00pm with the winner over the two legs booking a date with Ghana's Asante Kotoko in the first round.
