Bidvest Wits striker Lehlohonolo Majoro to give his all against Cape Town City

Ahead of their clash against Cape Town City, Bidvest Wits striker Lehlohonolo Majoro says he will put aside his emotions when he meets his former teammates on Saturday night.

The Clever Boys will be targeting maximum points against the Citizens at Bidvest Stadium in a crucial clash as far as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) race is concerned.

“In this industry of football, you are never guaranteed a team, there’s no team that you can call your home,” said Majoro to IOL.

Wits were held to a 1-1 draw by Mamelodi Sundowns at home in their previous league game last weekend.

On the other hand, City succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to Sundowns away in midweek.

“I was at Cape Town City and they welcomed me and I was very happy that I won a trophy with them. But like Chiefs and Pirates, every time I compete against them I give it my all because I will be representing the team that I’m playing for at that particular time, and such games don’t need emotions, because when you get them that’s when you make mistakes,” he added.

“It doesn’t make much of a difference that they played and lost to Sundowns during the week, it’s for us to apply ourselves on the day,” Majoro continued.

“I am quite sure that my teammates are suffering all aware that just because they (City) played on Wednesday, that won’t automatically give us an upper hand when we come across them,” concluded the striker.

Looking at the log table, second-placed Wits have collected 38 points, while City occupies the fourth spot with 33 points.
