Betting Tips: The best data-led bets for the weekend's Football League action

The Premier League and Championship may have been put on hold this weekend but there is still plenty of Football League action for punters to get stuck into.

Using Opta's industry-leading data, we've picked out three selections from League One and Two.

Doncaster vs AFC Wimbledon

All signs point towards a low scoring affair in the meeting between Doncaster and AFC Wimbledon this weekend. The hosts failed to find the net in either match between the pair last term.

There were 13 shots in this exact fixture last season but they resulted in a goalless draw at the Keepmoat Stadium, a result that secured AFC Wimbledon’s place in League One.

The Dons rarely find the net when travelling away from home, they have failed to score in 26 of their last 46 league games on the road (56.5%), drawing a blank in five of their last seven.

Oxford United vs Gillingham

Oxford United look to be great value in this fixture at 11/10 (2.10). The U's have been in good form as of late they are unbeaten in six league games (W2 D4); the last time they went on a longer such unbeaten run was in October 2015.

Oxford perform especially well against Gillingham when they meet too. Indeed, the hosts have conceded just two goals in their last eight matches against this opposition in all competitions, going unbeaten during that period.

To add to this, Gillingham have only won one of their last seven league games so siding with the hosts at odds-against looks the way to go.

Peterborough United vs Bradford City

Our best bet of the weekend comes in the Peterborough vs Bradford game

With Bradford being one the worst run of any team in England, Peterbrough to be leading at both halftime and full time looks to be overpriced at 8/5 (2.60).

No League One side have scored fewer goals in the first half (4) or the opening 15 minutes (0) than Bradford this season so there is likely no danger of the Bantams hitting the ground running on this occasion.

On top of this, Peterborough manager Steve Evans has won six of his seven matches against Bradford City in all competitions, drawing the other.
