Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen admits he cannot say for certain what the future holds as he continues to be linked with Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola raided his former club for a new keeper last summer, but plumped for Claudio Bravo as the natural successor to Joe Hart at the Etihad Stadium.

He has seen that decision questioned by some error-strewn showings from the Chilean, with Willy Caballero now filling first-team duties.

City are, however, being linked with another move on the Barca ranks when the transfer window re-opens and Ter Stegen acknowledges that anything could happen.

Pressed on whether he sees himself at Camp Nou for many more years by La Vanguardia , the Germany international said: "I don't know.

"I try to do the best for me and for the team. Give my best and improve. You never know what comes after.

"I live in the moment, that is what is most important. I am happy here with my colleagues and friends, and I hope to win many more trophies, that is the goal.”

Ter Stegen is currently tied to Barca until the summer of 2019. Reports have, however, suggested that the La Liga giants have entered into extension talks in an effort to fend off unwanted attention in his services.

The 24-year-old moved to Camp Nou from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014 and has become the club’s undisputed first-choice keeper following the departure of Bravo.
