Former Fenerbahce striker Yaw Preko says Andre Ayew must ‘play with his heart’ at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in order to win the support of fans.
The 28-year-old joined the Turkish Super Lig giants on a season-long loan deal from Swansea City last week.
“At Fenerbahce, you’ll have to play with your heart, especially as a new player,” Preko told Footballmadeinghana.
“Thanks to television and the internet, the supporters are very much aware of the pedigree of Andre Ayew but they want to see it on the pitch.
“Turkish fans are just like Ghanaians, [since] they want to see their players fully committed to the club," he said.
“From Ayew's first game at the club, he must show them what he is really made up of so that the fans will forever love him and his style of play.
"All Ghanaians who played at the club had this at the back of their minds and there is no wonder that they were successful,” Preko added.
Ayew is the fourth Ghanaian to play for Fenerbahce after Preko, Stephen Appiah and Sam 'Foyoo' Johnson.
