Atletico Madrid-linked Super Eagle Moffi praised by FC Lorient manager Pelissier

FC Lorient manager Christophe Pelissier believes Super Eagle Terem Moffi is steadily developing and it is the reason why some top clubs are interested in his services.

Among the teams linked with his services are LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid who are keen on bolstering their attacking department. The tactician is delighted there is reported interest in the youngster's services which proves the Merlucciidaes are doing a good job in nurturing players.

"The fact that a player like him is wanted [by other teams] seems logical to me, and is also gratifying for the work that is being done here," Pelissier said as quoted by Ouest-France .

"We are able to develop very, very high-level players. Terem [Moffi] is already a very high-level player and I think he will get even better with time."

The 22-year-old played a vital role to help the team get promoted to the French top-tier after scoring 14 goals and providing three assists; which made him finish as the club’s top scorer and he will be looking to match the feat this season if his transfer apirations don't come off.

Moffi has already opened his goal account for the 2021-22 French Ligue 1 season with the winning strike in a 1-0 result against Monaco in their last Ligue 1 match.

The attacker stepped forward to convert from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, a lead the hosts held on to for the rest of the match.

The victory powered Lorient to the seventh position of the Ligue 1 table with four points after two games, pending results from Saturday's fixtures while Monaco dropped to 14th with just a point after two outings.

Moffi will aim to build on Friday's winning goal when Lorient visit Montpellier for their next league fixture on Sunday, August 22.

His remarkable goalscoring record earned him a maiden invitation to the Super Eagles squad at the end of the 2020-21 season and he made his debut appearance in an international friendly match against Cameroon on June 4, which ended in a 1-0 loss in Austria.

Moffi played again in the double-header friendly fixture as Gernot Rohr's men held the Indomitable Lions to a goalless draw, four days later.
