Juventus will be looking to strengthen their Coppa Italia title defence when they travel to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia to take on Atalanta in Tuesday’s semi-final first leg.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men have lifted the trophy in each of the last three seasons, a winning streak unmatched by any other other team in the competition’s history.
Coming into this clash on the back of an eight-game winning streak, they are 13/10 (2.30) favourites with bet365 to put one foot in the final with an away victory here.
However, La Dea made their way past Serie A leaders Napoli in the last round and are on offer at 9/4 (3.25) to come out on top in this one.
Both of the last two encounters between these teams have resulted in draws, and there are odds of 21/10 (3.10) available on another stalemate here.
Gian Piero Gasperini rested Etrit Berisha, Alejandro Gomez and Mattia Caldara for Saturday’s league win over Sassuolo, although all three should return for this clash.
Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are expected to welcome back Gianluigi Buffon from injury, although Benedikt Howedes, Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala and Claudio Marchisio are all likely to be ruled out.
After two months on the sidelines, Buffon may need to get back up to speed fairly swiftly against an opposition attack that has only failed to score twice in their last 29 fixtures.
Having scored twice in each of the last three meetings between the sides, the hosts will certainly back themselves to find some joy in front of goal in this one.
However, despite their reasonably prolific record against the champions, Atalanta have not won any of the last 22 encounters them – conceding at least twice in 19 of those.
Tips and Predictions
Considering Juventus are averaging 2.64 goals per away game in domestic competition this season, odds of 27/20 (2.35) look well worth the investment on at least three being scored for their fifth consecutive match against this opposition.
