Ajax Cape Town captain Mosa Lebusa set to undergo Kaizer Chiefs medical

Goal can exclusively reveal that Ajax Cape Town captain Mosa Lebusa will undergo a medical with Kaizer Chiefs.

Lebusa, who is also wanted by Mamelodi Sundowns, has been a reliable servant of the Urban Warriors and has featured regularly since breaking through from their junior ranks in 2012.

The 25-year-old had been expected to sign for the Brazilians, but the signing of Siyabonga Zulu in January this year has since seen Pitso Mosimane withdraw his interest in the left-footed defender.

He featured 139 times for the Parow-based club, scoring nine goals - four of those coming from last season.

Lebusa will be expected to compete with Philani Zulu, Letlhogonolo Mirwa and Siphosihle Ntiya-Ntiya for a place on the left hand side of the Chiefs defence.

Zulu though might be pushed further forward depending on how the technical team wants to play throughout the season.

Goal understands that Lebusa, who has two Bafana Bafana caps, is not alone in the move to Naturena.

Goalkeeper Brendon Petersen could also be on his way to Chiefs, who recently signed Virgil Vries on a free transfer.

While they already have Bruce Bvuma, Itumeleng Khune and Vries, the Glamour Boys want to add more experience in the goalkeeping department more so because they will be campaigning in five major tournaments this season.

Amakhosi qualified for next season's Caf Confederation Cup, and they have already said that the team will not take the competition for granted as this was the case in previous seasons.

It is for this reason that the Chiefs management hired Giovanni Solinas; a former Free State Stars coach who has seen it all on the African continent.
