Hlanti’s representative Sizwe Ntshangase has disclosed that he has held talks with Lokomotiv, who are the current Russian Premier League champions.
“Before the start of the season, a manager from Moscow came to see for us to talk about Hlanti moving to Russia,” Ntshangase told Isolezwe.
Ntshangase revealed that the club sent an agent, who scouted the player and he was impressed.
Hlanti signed a new long-term deal with Wits at the beginning of the current campaign.
“Hlanti had signed a new contract with Wits by then, I told him to make an offer and discuss it with Wits because he is their player," he concluded.
It remains to be seen whether Lokomotiv will make a move for Hlanti during the upcoming January transfer window.
Lokomotiv had retired South African left-back Jacob Lekgetha on their books in the early 2000s.
Futhermore, Kaizer Chiefs are known to been admirers of the Durban-born player since his days with AmaZulu FC.
The Soweto giants have also been linked with the South Africa international this season.
