AFC Leopards’ forward Vincent Oburu is leading GOtv Shield top scorers chart with five goals as the knock out competition enters round of 32 this weekend.
Oburu is followed closely by teammate Whyvonne Isuza, Sofapaka’s Umaru Kasumba, Ronald Musana of Nakuru All Stars and Christopher Musinga of Vihiga United, all on four goals. AFC Leopards beat Gor Mahia to the signature of Oburu, whose move to the Den was characterized by drama early June when both clubs claimed that he had signed for them.
But the youngster has since proved his worth despite the fact that Ingwe is experiencing miserable form in the league, hitting home five goals in GOtv tournament. Eldoret Youth’s George Onyango and Murang’a All Stars’ Harrison Kamande have both pulled a surprising conversion rates, even performing better than most some of the established names in Kenyan Premier League.
The duo have so far hit the back of the net three and two times in that order. Ingwe, who will face Nairobi City Stars in the next round on Saturday, have three top scorers on the 16-man list released by Football Kenya Federation on Friday followed by Vihiga United with two top scorers.
