AFC Cup 2018: Inter Zonal semifinals first leg preview

The battle for a spot in the Inter Zonal final is set to begin....

The Inter-Zonal semifinal playoffs is set for a start this week. Here is what awaits us this week in the second leg. 

Bengaluru vs Altyn Asyr

India's Bengaluru FC are all set to take on Turkmenistan outfit Altyn Asyr in the first leg of their semi-final playoff. 

Bengaluru FC topped Group E to qualify for this tie and will be hosting Altyn Asyr. Under coach Carles Cuadrat, the team has undergone several changes in style and personnel. But their main man in attack will still be Sunil Chhetri. 

Altyn Asyr come into this tie after pipping last year's runners-up Istiklol to the qualification spot from Group D. Murat Yakshiyev is the man Altyn Asyr turn to when in need of inspiration, and the 26-year-old has certainly delivered in the AFC Cup with five goals and three assists.

Home United vs 4.25 SC

Singapore's Home United will be hosting North Korean outfit 4.25 SC in the first leg of their semi-final playoff. 

Home United have gone from strength-to-strength this season which was epitomised by their victorious campaign in the ASEAN Zone. They beat Ceres Negros in the final and are deserving of a spot in this tie. 

4.25 SC will not make things easy for Home United. The North Koreans are a well-drilled outfit which has been scoring goals galore. Their attacking threat needs to be dealt with by Home United.
