AFC Cup 2018: Inter Zonal final first leg preview

Altyn Asyr and 4.25 SC are set to lock horns in the final...

The Inter-Zonal final is upon us with the first leg taking place this week:

Here is what awaits us this week:

4.25 SC (PRK) v Altyn Asyr (TKM)

North Korean outfit 4.25 SC are all set to welcome Turkmenistan's Altyn Asyr to Pyongyang in the first leg of their AFC Cup Inter-Zonal final on Wednesday.

In what is only their second appearance in the competition, 4.25 SC have blazed a trail. They have won all eight of their games so far. Ominously, they demolished Singapore's Home United 9-1 in the two-legged semifinals. An Il-bom is 4.25’s main threat and the forward is the competition’s leading scorer with 11 goals. Moreover, they are boosted by the return of Kim yu-song.

Altyn Asyr will not be pushovers though with the Turkmen side showing their credentials by taking down last year's Inter-Zonal finalists Bengaluru FC in a comprehensive 5-2 scoreline in the semifinals. Altymyrat Annadurdyyev is the team’s top scorer and netted in both games against Bengaluru. The pacey forward is at his most dangerous cutting in from the left.

Venue: Kim Il-sung Stadium, Pyongyang
Kick-off: September 19, 17:00 UTC+9
