Two goals in the last three minutes downed India in their second game of the four-nation tournament...

India U-16 succumbed to late goals against Thailand and lost 1-3 in their second match of the four-nation tournament at Wei Nan City in China on Thursday.

Although Vikram Pratap Singh restored parity (48') after Thailand took the lead (41') in the first half, defensive lapses in the final minutes of the game (88', 90') cost the Indian Colts

India started the match on a positive note, trying to create chances to score from the off. The early pressure almost bore fruit in the ninth minute when Vikram Pratap Singh's shot flew inches wide of the target.

The Indian Colts were close to breaking the deadlock again in the 15th minute. Rohit Danu's powerful shot beat the goalkeeper but was cleared off the goalline.

Thailand kept knocking on the doors of India's defence and they finally found a way four minutes before the half-time whistle.

A dejected Indian team walked out of the tunnel for the second-half and were able to find their deserved equalizer in the 48th minute through Vikram's powerful shot.

Thailand's persistence paid off in the final minutes of the match. After hitting the woodwork with 20 minutes to go, the Indian defence was carved open with two goals in the last three minutes, handing India a painful defeat.

India U-16 will now face DPR Korea in their final match of the four-nation Tournament on July 07, 2018.
