The veteran player has penned a short-term contract with the Tembisa-based outfit, the club announced.
Moriri had been training with the newly promoted PSL team for a while, and Gordon Igesund decided to rope him until the end of the season.
"Highlands Park FC would like to officially welcome Surprise Moriri to the Lions Of The North family. He is going to be with the team until the end of the season. Surprise has been training with the team for the past few weeks, until coach Gordon and the technical team decided to rope him in," the club confirmed.
Igesund confirmed earlier this week that he was looking for new players to bolster his squad ahead of the January transfer window.
And having previously worked with Moriri at Sundowns, the former Bafana Bafana mentor knows what the Matibidi-born midfielder can offer.
The 36-year-old brings wealth of PSL and international experience to the Lions of the North. He won 34 Bafana caps and netted five times for the national team.
Highlands Park are currently in position 14 on the log with just six points from eight league matches.
