The APR FC and Rwanda goalkeeper has over the past month been linked with a move to the Team of Choice and he's now expected to arrive in Pietermaritzburg in the next few days.
According to The New Times of Rwanda, the former Isonga FC goalkeeper will hop on a plane to South Africa as soon as he receives his visa.
“Yes, it’s true I am planning to fly to South Africa early next week for talks with Maritzburg United officials and I hope everything goes well,” Kwizera is quoted as saying by the Rwandan publication.
Kwizera, who will reportedly be offered a two-year contract by the Absa Premiership side, has in the past attracted interest from Bidvest Wits.
The 21-year-old played an integral part in APR winning their 16th Rwandan league title last season.
Ernst Middendorp is said to be eager to add a goalkeeper to his ranks after Maritzburg United released Tawfeeq Salie.
It has also been reported that Glenn Verbauwhede will not return to the KwaZulu-Natal outfit, leaving Virgil Vries as the only senior shot-stopper at the club.
Zimbabwe goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva has also attracted interest from Maritzburg United.
