Mushekwi joins Djurgårdens IF on loan from Sundowns

The 27-year-old lanky forward will be hoping to resurrect his career and possibly secure a permanent move to the Swedish side at the end of his loan spell in August
Mamelodi Sundowns striker Nyasha Mushekwi has officially signed a short-term contract with Swedish side Djurgårdens IF.

The former Zimbabwe international spent a month training with the Allsvenskan League side, and the deal was struck as soon as coach Per Olsson .

"Everything is ready. [The] contract has been signed by both parties. We are now just waiting for the South African Football Association to approve the transfer. We need (Mushekwi because we) have had some injuries to some of our strikers," Djurgårdens sports director Bosse Andersson confirmed on the club's website.

Mushekwi last played competitive football during the 2013/14 campaign while on loan at Belgian Pro League side KV Oostende from the Brazilians.

However, his progress was hampered by a knee injury he sustained towards the end of that particular season before Sundowns decided not to register him for the current campaign.
