Top Absa Premiership sides SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates could be set to battle for the services of Zambia international midfielder Roderick Kabwe.
The versatile player, who plies his trade in the MTN Super Division for Zanaco, had a good 2014 season in the Zambian elite league finishing the campaign as one of the league's top goalscorers.
Pirates are reportedly scouting the left-footed player at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament in Equatorial Guinea, where Kabwe is part of the Chipolopolo squad.
When speaking exclusively to Goal regarding his client, Fifa accredited agent Chitu Chitundu made it known that the Buccaneers were not the only South African team targeting Kabwe.
"Yes, it is true, there is interest from South Africa. I am aware of SuperSport United's interest in my player Roderick," Chitundu told Goal.
"As for Pirates, I can confirm that they did inquire about the player. Roderick performed very well last season," the source concluded to Goal.
The 22-year-old player, who produced an impressive performance for Zambia in a 3-1 friendly win over Sudan in August, featured against Pirates in the preliminary stages of the 2013 Caf Champions League.
