Machapa and Cisse released by Moroka Swallows

Swallows coach Zeca Marques confirms that Zimbabwean duo Oscar Machapa and Cheick Cisse won’t part of the Dube Birds next season

Moroka Swallows have started preparing for the new season, as coach Zeca Marques confirmed to Goal that a few players will be leaving the club in the next few days.

One player that will certainly be leaving the club is Oscar Machapa who has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Soweto-based club.

“Oscar won’t be part of this team next season. He has seen a little action this past season and we felt we can bring someone who can contribute more,” Marques told Goal.

Cheick Cisse is another player that has been released by Swallows. Cisse did not live up to expectations for the Dube Birds this season and he will definitely be looking to get some game time elsewhere.

Swallows have not confirmed the names of other players who will be released, but it is believed that Joseph Makhanya and MacBeth Sibaya could both be offloaded.

Sibaya lost his place to Sibusiso Kumalo at the beginning of the season while Duku-Duku has found it very hard to break into the starting eleven since joining Swallows from Mpumalanga Black Aces.
