Abia Nale is returning to Kaizer Chiefs next season

The Urban Warriors confirm that Abia Nale will return to the newly crowned PSL and Nedbank Cup champions after his loan spell at Ajax came to an end

Ajax Cape Town have confirmed that midfielder Abia Nale will return to Kaizer Chiefs for the upcoming season after spending the second half of the season on loan at the Ikamva club.

The Urban Warriors PRO Shooz Mekutu confirmed to Goal that Nale will not be part of the Ajax team next season despite contributing to the club’s relegation survival this season.

“Nale was on loan and he will be returning to Chiefs now that the season is over. I am sure he would have liked to stay, but that’s not for him to decide,” Mekutu told Goal.

The former Golden Arrows attacking midfielder made 10 appearances for the Urban Warriors since February and he scored three goals in the process.

However, inconsistency could be one reason that Ajax have not tried to sign him on a permanent basis.

The Sebokeng-born Nale will definitely look to impress Stuart Baxter during the pre-season, as Chiefs will require a big squad for the Caf Champions League next season.

Chiefs brought Nale to Naturena in 2009 while Muhsin Ertugral was still in charge of the Soweto giants and it remains to be seen whether the Turkish mentor will convince the Ajax management to bring the 26-year-old back to Cape Town.
