Bloemfontein Celtic- Golden Arrows Preview: Bloemfontein club need to break winless run

Bloemfontein Celtic will be hoping to bring back the happy days when they host Golden Arrows after having played six games in a row without a single win

This time the home team Celtic will welcome KwaZulu-Natal based outfit Golden Arrows at the Free State Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic lost 1-0 to AmaZulu on Wednesday night after having played beautiful football and being unlucky with most of their headers going wide or hitting the woodwork.

Phunya Sele Sele coach Clinton Larsen will be hoping to get a win which he hopes will be the beginning of greater things for his side.

“The match is not going to be easy. Arrows plays similar football to us. We are hoping to use the home ground advantage and get a win. They are also coming here for a win, but I guess it will all depend on the day. I believe that if we can score in this match, then we will win all our remaining fixtures,” said Larsen.

With their in-form goalkeeper Patrick Tingyemb, Arrows strikers will have to dig deep to get some goals. The visitors will be depending on youngster Bongi Ntuli who came and rescued them against Maritzburg United on Wednesday by scoring two goals.

Other players that are expected to play a vital role for Arrows will be striker Thamsanqa Gabuza and captain Thanduyise Khuboni in the midfield.

  • In their last four outings it is Celtic that was victorious when these two teams met.
  • Celtic have won seven, drawn two and lost three matches at home in their last 12 games.
  • Golden Arrows have only won two matches out of twelve playing away from home.
  • Arrows are coming into this match after having played back to back draws with Chiefs and Maritzburg United.
  •  Bloemfontein Celtic has not won a single match in their last six games.
