It was an absolute pleasure bringing you this opening match, until we meet again next time, good night.
There were a few outstanding players on the side of South Africa. Khune, Mobara, Motupa and Dolly did well for Owen Da Gama's men.
South Africa need to work on creating goalscoring chances in the remaining two Group A matches. They looked blunt upfront, simply because Mothiba was alone and didn't the support he needed.

The remaining 11 minutes of this game will be crucial for South Africa. They need to avoid sitting back and defending too deep to get a point here.
Khune does well to keep South Africa in the game with two great saves in quick succession. What a day he's had tonight!

Neymar vs. Mobara battle continues... this time on the near side as the attacker goes down from a Mobara challenge.

Brazil did all they can in the opening half, but they didn't really do well enough in the final third.
South Africa have been relatively well organized in the opening half. A few lapses in concentration here and there, especially at the back but nothing really serious.
HALF-TIME: We have come to the end of the first 45 minutes. It's Brazil 0-0 South Africa at the break.

AUGUSTO RIFLES FROM DISTANCE!!! A Mathoho clearance falls kindly for Augusto outside the box, and the Brazilian volleys towards goal only for his attempt to miss the target. Nonetheless, Khune appeared to have had that one covered.
DOLLY STRIKES!!! Dolly loses his marker and goes onto his left before firing from distance, but his shot goes wide without troubling Weverton. It is still 0-0 in Rio.
Motupa tries to release Mothiba through the middle, but the pass is too strong for the Lille striker.
Brazil look vulnerable when crosses are played into their own box. They need to improve on this otherwise South Africa will punish them.

The problem with the South African team is that they rely on long balls and they are not playing to Mothiba's strength.
Brazil win a corner after an inteception by Aubrey Modiba on the left hand side of Amaglug-glug's box, but they cannot take full advantage of the situation.
Mekoa beats his marker on the near side, but his final pass is disappointing as it cannot reach a teammate in the midfielder.
