Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Messi's injury looms large for Barcelona in a very important week for the club. They face Inter in the Champions League at the Camp Nou before hosting Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday. It did look a serious injury for the Argentine, although every Barcelona fan will have their fingers crossed that it is less severe than first appeared. Sevilla face Akhisarspor in the Europa League in their next outing before playing Huesca in LaLiga in eight days.
Barcelona secure the win to move back to the summit of LaLiga, although it comes at a price as Lionel Messi suffered an arm injury. The Argentine played a decisive role in handing his team an early two-goal advantage, setting up Philippe Coutinho for the opener before scoring the second himself with a fine left-footed finish. However, he then fell awkwardly on his right arm and was forced from the field. The Catalan club were not deterred by his absence, although there were indebted to two brilliant double saves from Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The German's excellence allowed Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic to get their team over the line, although Pablo Sarabia and Luis Muriel found the net for Sevilla. Pablo Machin's men will leave the Camp Nou believing that they could have had a share of the spoils, but their finishing was not good enough on the night.
W. Ben Yedder
90' + 1' Ben Yedder tees up Muriel to find the net inside the Barcelona box.
L. Muriel
90' + 1' GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!! MURIEL FINDS THE NET!! 4-2!! Sevilla get a consolation goal as Muriel converts late in the game after latching onto Ben Yedder's offload. This time he does beat Ter Stegen with a composed finish from inside the box, curling his effort beyond the German, although it's too little too late for the visitors.
90' There will be three minutes of added time.
I. Rakitić
88' GOALLLLLLLLL!!!! RAKITIC PUTS THE GAME AWAY!!! 4-1 BARCELONA!!! Raktic scores a beauty on the half-volley to secure the win for the home side. He latches on to a loose ball on the right flank and drills his effort across goal. Vaclik tries to get down, but the strike has too much power for him to get there in time to make the stop as the ball finds the bottom corner.
87' DISALLOWED GOAL!! Sarabia puts the ball into the net on this occasion, but the referee spots that he controlled with his hand from Navas' cross before smashing his volley home.
86' TER STEGEN DOES IT AGAIN! The Barcelona keeper denies Sevilla with another incredible double stop. The home side's defence is wide open, allowing Sarabia a free strike at goal from 15 yards out. He gives Ter Stegen the eyes and tries to slot the ball into the top corner, but the German produces a brilliant one-handed save. Ben Yedder tries to pounce on the rebound, firing across the face of goal, but the keeper puts his body in the way. Incredible from Ter Stegen.
85' OVER! Muriel raids forward for the visitors and cuts inside to shoot, only to blast his effort narrowly over the bar.
83' SAVE! Barcelona win a free-kick 25 yards from goal and Coutinho lifts his effort over the wall towards goal. It should be a routine save, but it bounces awkwardly ahead of Vaclik, forcing him to push the ball away from goal.
L. Suárez
81' Suarez is replaced by Munir for the closing stages of the game.
C. Lenglet
Own Goal
79' GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!! SARABIA SCORES A STUNNER!!!! 3-1!!! It might not be game over yet as Sarabia scores an absolute beauty from the edge of the box. Banega slides a pass to the forward and he pulls the ball back on his left foot. He fires his effort with power and swerve into the top corner with the aid of a slight deflection, leaving Ter Stegen with no chance.

77' Sevilla might have to take the pace out of the contest to stop Barcelona's late assault here.

72' Coutinho drives down the left flank to win a corner for his team, allowing the home side to take the pace out of the contest.
71' Sevilla have lacked the killer touch in their play all over the park. Sarabia fails to pick out Navas on the run down the right flank with his offload. It has been one of those days for Machin's side.
Roque Mesa
F. Vázquez
69' Roque Mesa replaces Vazquez for the visitors in their midfield.
69' OVER! Rakitic pounces on a loose ball on the edge of the box and goes for a first-time strike on his left foot, only to blast his effort well over the bar.
Sergi Roberto
66' Arthur makes way for Sergi Roberto for the home side.
65' Ter Stegen may have won the game for his team with his double save. The momentum swing from the Germany denying Silva and Arana then Suarez winning the penalty at the other end was huge. It could be a very important in the context of Barca's season.
L. Suárez
Penalty Goal
63' GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!!! SUAREZ MAKES IT THREE!!!! 3-0 BARCELONA!!! The forward holds his nerve from 12 yards to all but secure the win for the home side. He fires his effort into the bottom corner, sending Vaclik the wrong way. A decisive moment in the contest.
T. Vaclík
Yellow Card
62' Vaclik is booked for bringing down Suarez in the box.
62' PENALTY TO BARCELONA! The Catalan club are awarded a penalty as Suarez is brought down by Vaclik. He chases a long ball over the top and breaks into the box. Suarez kicks the ball slightly out in front of him drawing the challenge from the Sevilla keeper. Vaclik misses the ball, but gets the forward. The referee does not hesitate in pointing to the spot.
61' WHAT A SAVE! Ter Stegen keeps Sevilla at bay with an outstanding double save. Navas clips the ball into the box and Silva latches on to the delivery to head at goal. His effort is destined for the top corner, but the German reaches out to claw it away. The rebound falls for Arana, who blasts the ball at goal, only to be denied by the body of the Barcelona keeper.
58' CHANCE! Suarez should notch Barca's third as he has a slight touch of fortune in the Sevilla box. His effort his charged down with ease, but the rebound falls perfectly for him to strike. However, the Uruguayan fails to get clean contact with his effort, firing wide of the post.
56' PENALTY SHOUT & OVER! Navas raids down the right and his low cross strikes Alba. The Sevilla man is certain that it should be a penalty for handball. However, the referee dismisses his claim. Sarabia latches on to the loose ball, but can only lift his effort over the bar from a tight angle. The referee checks with the VAR after the fact, which deems that it was not a penalty.
G. Mercado
S. Kjær
54' Mercado replaces Kjaer at the back for the visitors.

48' Navas and Sarabia probe down the right flank, with the former winning a corner off the legs of Busquets.
46' We're back underway at the Camp Nou.
Pablo Machin will not be happy with his team's performance in the opening 45 minutes. It started badly when Coutinho scored in the second minute, while his side then allowed Messi to double Barca's advantage. After the Argentine was forced off there was no response from the visitors to apply serious pressure. Guilherme Arana did hit the post before Messi notched the second goal, but other than that Sevilla have barely threatened the Barcelona goal. Machin will be demanding an improvement after the break.
Barcelona lead Sevilla 2-0 at the break, but Lionel Messi's injury is the major talking point of the first half. Messi fell awkwardly on his right arm after handing his side a two-goal advantage, teeing up Philippe Coutinho for the first goal before scoring the second himself. However, the Argentine appeared to be in discomfort on the ground after falling in a challenge. He was last seen being bandaged up, clutching his arm to his chest. With El Clasico only eight days away, it's a huge concern for Ernesto Valverde.
45' + 3' CHANCE! Rakitic should put Barca three goals ahead as he latches on to Dembele's throughball. Vaclik commits himself by rushing off his line, forcing the midfielder to take on the strike early. Rakitic tries to chip the Sevilla keeper, but it's a poor attempt and one that he saves with ease.
45' + 1' CLOSE! Navas probes in the right inside channel and fires a low ball towards the near post. Sarabia makes a run ahead of Lenglet to latch on to the delivery, but he pokes his effort inches wide of the target.

The Uruguayan and the home crowd want a penalty, but the referee dismisses their appeal. Semedo continues the attack alone, but he drills his effort straight into the side-netting.
39' Machin will be disappointed by his side's performance in the first half. A goal could change his perspective, but they've not shown any initiative in the opening 39 minutes.
37' Arana sends a cross deep into the box for Silva to attack, forcing Alba to head behind.
36' OVER! Suarez and Coutinho combine on the edge of the box and the latter goes for goal with a curling strike, only to send his effort narrowly over the bar.
34' Barca return the favour and win a corner themselves. Vaclik fails to connect with his punch ahead of Lenglet, but Kjaer is there to clear the danger. Sevilla win a free-kick, while the defender remains down on the pitch.
32' Better from the visitors as Banega feeds the run of Navas down the right flank and he wins a corner off the legs of Alba.
30' Coutinho drops deep and hooks a ball over the top for Suarez in the left inside channel, but he just overhits his offload out for a throw-in. The Uruguayan was a fraction offside anyway.
28' Dembele flashes his skills with a surging run down the right flank. He twists and turns past two defenders before running out of room on the byline.
27' Sevilla have a huge opportunity now to put Barca under pressure 2-0 down or not. Without their talisman the home side will be vulnerable.
O. Dembélé
L. Messi
26' A hammer blow for Barcelona as Messi is forced off with an injury. They will be praying that it's not a serious one, only eight days before El Clasico. Dembele replaces the Argentine.
24' Dembele is preparing to come on. It looks as though Messi's involvement in this game is over. The physio had bandaged his arm, but the Argentine was clutching it towards his chest, suggesting that it could be a shoulder injury.
23' Kjaer jumps with Suarez and gives away a free-kick. Barcelona are milking the pace of the game, but need to make a decision on Messi.
22' The pace of the game is suffering from Messi's absence. Barca are attempting to work the ball around the pitch while they wait for the return of their skipper.
20' Messi is having his right arm bandaged up by the Barcelona physio. It appears he might try to return to the field.
18' We're back underway, but without Messi, who is still receiving treatment on the touchline.
16' A major concern for Barcelona as Messi gets tangled in a challenge and goes down in a heap. He requires treatment on the pitch before we can resume. The Argentine appears to have fallen awkwardly on his elbow.
14' Arana looks for the run of Ben Yedder in the final third, but the striker is caught offside after moving too soon.
L. Suárez
12' Suarez releases Messi's run, allowing the Argentine to finish and extend his side's lead.
L. Messi
12' GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!! MESSI DOUBLES BARCA'S LEAD!! 2-0!!! The home side extend their advantage as Suarez picks out Messi down the right flank. Messi creates room to open up his body to curl a left-footed strike towards goal. He hits his effort with enough power and bend to beat Vaclik and find the back of the net.
11' Sevilla are winless 15 games in La Liga at Camp Nou (drawn two, lost 13), conceding 40 goals there during that run (2.7 per game).
9' Alba breaks into the left inside channel and he looks for the offload inside to Messi. The Argentine forces a strike at goal from a tight angle, which deflects off Carrico for a corner.
8' The game has settled into a rhythm and it's a quick pace that has been established by both teams.
6' OFF THE POST! Sevilla come within inches of an equaliser as Silva releases Arana into space down the left flank. From the edge of the box he goes for the strike across Ter Stegen. He beats the German, only to see his effort clatter off the post.
6' Messi probes on the edge of the box, but he gets crowded out before he can threaten.
4' It's far from the start that Sevilla would have wanted. This will be a major test of their character to battle back against Valverde's men.
L. Messi
2' Messi collects the ball and turns away from the Sevilla defence before sliding a perfect pass through to Coutinho to convert.
Philippe Coutinho
2' GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!! COUTINHO FIRES BARCELONA AHEAD!!! The home side take the lead in emphatic fashion. They break down the right through Semedo, who finds Messi. He turns to play in Coutinho in the box with a precise left-footed offload. The Brazilian fires the ball first time into the top corner, leaving Vaclik with no chance. What a start for Barca.
2' Barcelona win an early corner down the left flank. Coutinho whips the ball into the box with pace, but Pique just fails to make contact in the middle.
1' We're underway at the Camp Nou.
The players are out on the pitch so we should be underway shortly.
Sevilla have only won one of their last 22 games against Barcelona in La Liga (drawn five, lost 16), 2-1 in October 2015, keeping a clean sheet only once in the process.
Sevilla are unchanged from their win over Celta Vigo last time out as Machin keeps faith in his players, putting an attacking system in place at the Camp Nou. Silva, Sarabia and Ben Yedder will lead the attack in a three-man frontline this evening.
Barcelona have made one change from their draw against Valencia last time out. Lenglet comes into the side in the back four, replacing Thomas Vermaelen. Coutinho is preferred in the final third ahead of Dembele, with Ernesto Valverde retaining the midfield trio of Arthur, Rakitic and Busquets.

We're only two months into the season, but tonight's contest could have huge ramifications in the title race. Sevilla have been early pacesetters at the top of the league, although Alaves leapfrogged them this afternoon to take pole position. Pablo Machin's men have lost two of their opening eight matches, which came in back-to-back weeks against Real Betis and Getafe. Since then they've won three matches on the spin, including a 3-0 win over Real Madrid. Barcelona enter the contest on the back of one of their worst runs in their recent history, failing to win any of their last four matches. The reigning champions will be desperate to prove a point to end their poor pattern of results.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga clash between Barcelona and Sevilla at the Camp Nou.
