Orlando Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Cassius Mailula appear to have offered hope that Bafana Bafana can rediscover themselves as a competitive team.
The two have been the biggest revelation of the Premier Soccer League this season and interestingly, they were both frozen out by their respective teams in the early stages of the term.
Saleng only started playing in October following his return from a loan stint at Swallows FC while Mailula only made his PSL debut in September after being promoted from Sunsowns reserves.
But they have established themselves as key players for their teams and are already being viewed as the perfect figures to breathe life into a Bafana side that has struggled to qualify for major tournaments in recent years.
They have also been mentioned as candidates for the PSL Footballer of the Season gong.
Unavoidably, the duo has drawn comparisons between them and in the process sparked a fierce debate among fans.
