    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs prodigy Wandile Duba might be an absence for Nasreddine Nabi's team when they confront Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby, as he was spotted in a knee brace on Monday.

The 20-year-old star was forced off with an apparent left knee injury just minutes before the half-time whistle in Amakhosi's 4-0 Nedbank Cup win over Free Agents at the FNB Stadium on Sunday evening.

Although Chiefs haven't provided an update regarding his current status, Duba was seen wearing a brace on his left knee, which indicates that he may be unavailable on Saturday.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Duba, who has been performing well for Nabi's team, is currently a league joint-top scorer for Chiefs, having scored four goals together with Mduduzi Shabalala.

The injury to the Glamour Boys' youngster could result in the Tunisian coach facing Jose Riveiro's star-studded side without one of his reliable players.

However, the Naturena-based giants' coach has Ranga Chivaviro available, but Ashley Du Preez is currently injured.

    WHAT NEXT FOR DUBA?

Duba is likely to miss the Soweto Derby, given that it usually takes some time for a player to recuperate from a knee injury, with the match set to occur in just a few days.

Chiefs and Pirates will clash at the iconic FNB Stadium on Saturday, February 1, with the game commencing at 15h30.
