1. Siyabonga Mpontshane, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    GOALKEEPER - Siyabonga Mpontshane

The Buccaneers are facing a goalkeeping crisis with three of their glovemen - Richard Ofori, Wayne Sandilands and Elson Sithole - injured in what forced them to have their Diski Challenge goalie Kopano Thuntsane as a substitute in their last game.

But Mpontshane has been outstanding in recent games especially the Caf Confederation Cup.

  2. Kwanda Mngonyama, Orlando Pirates, July 2021

    RIGHT-BACK - Kwanda Mngonyama

The former Maritzburg United man  is yet to make a league appearance after being entrusted with duty in the Caf Confederation League.

After a decent outing against Diables Noirs, chances are that he could start on Thursday.

  3. Happy Jele, Orlando Pirates, September 2021

    CENTRE-BACK - Happy Jele

The Pirates skipper has been showing his leadership qualities this season.

He was the hero of last weekend's clash against Diables Noirs and his goal sent the Buccaneers into the playoffs.

  4. Bongani Sam Orlando Pirates

    CENTRE-BACK - Bongani Sam

Sam is likely to continue in this unfamiliar position as a central defender, a role he has played in Pirates last two games.

  5. Paseka Mako, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    LEFT-BACK - Paseka Mako

He has started in five straight league games and is almost sure to be selected in the line-up again.
  6. Thabang Monare, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Thabang Monare

This is a player whose season started late and missed earlier matches due to injury.

But following his return, he has not looked back and is slowly cementing his position in the starting line-up.

  7. Goodman Mosele, Orlando Pirates, August 2021

The former Baroka FC star received rave reviews from coach Mandla Ncikazi after last Sunday's win over Diables Noirs.

That put him in a likely position to start on Thursday.

  8. Fortune Makaringe, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    LEFT MIDFIELDER - Fortune Makaringe

He was included in the starting line-up in Pirates' last two league games after coming off the bench in earlier matches.
  9. Wayde Jooste, Orlando Pirates, August 2021

    RIGHT MIDFIELDER - Wayde Jooste

The versatile player is yet to feature in a PSL match this season and could be selected against Royal AM.

This is after he did not disappoint and featured for the entire match against Diables Noirs on Sunday in what was his first Caf Confederation Cup appearance this term.

  10. Terrence Dzvukamanja, Orlando Pirates, October 2020

    CENTRE-FORWARD - Terrence Dzvukamanja

The Zimbabwean has been enjoying some regular game time this season especially with Pirates hit by injuries upfront.

But despite featuring in nine games across all competitions, he is yet to find the back of the net.

  11. Deon Hotto, Orlando Pirates, January 2021

With Tshegofatso Mabasa unlikely to make it for this game, Hotto could be the ideal candidate to partner Dzvukamanja in the front line.

He has come off the bench in Pirates' last three games but the team's desperate situation upfront might force the coaches to start him.
