Mamelodi Sundowns beat Chippa United 1-0 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night.
The only goal of the match was netted by Peter Shalulile in stoppage time and the win elevated the Tshwane giants to the top of the PSL standings.
Aubrey Modiba and Mothobi Mvala both played well for Sundowns on their return to the starting line-up.
GOAL rates the performances of the Masandawana players.
Rarely tested.
Did not have much to do as Sundowns dominated the game. Williams made one save and his ball distribution was top-notch.
Played well on his return to the team.
Tireless runner down the right wing who helped the team by providing the necessary width. However, he couldn't turn his marauding runs into an assist or a goal.
Also influential after being recalled to the team.
Modiba contributed well in both defence and attack while being a threat from set-pieces. He was brilliantly denied twice by Man of the Match and goalkeeper Llyod Kazapua.
He was sent off in stoppage time after receiving his second yellow card for time-wasting.
Mr Consistency.
De Reuck had a good outing in central defence. He dealt with opposition attacks fairly well and he played some accurate passes from the back.
Outstanding in central defence.
Mvala dealt with offensive threats adequately and displayed great passing to enable Downs' build-up play. He was also a threat in the opposition's box with his aerial prowess.
Operated as a deep-lying midfielder.
Jali barely had any defensive work to do with Chippa looking to attack through the wings. He stayed at the base of the midfield and helped rotate the ball and keep possession.
Played just ahead of Jali in midfield.
Mokoena's passing was average, barring the creative passes to unlock Chippa's defence. He was substituted towards the end of the match.
A constant threat to the Chilli Boys.
Zwane carried the ball progressively throughout and made good passes to cause chaos in the opposition's box. He came close to scoring when Kazapua denied him from close range.
Worked hard pressing the Chippa defenders.
Allende also showed his ability to carry the ball forward and his dribbling prowess, but he couldn't create any major chances. He did force Kazapua into making a decent save with a low shot.
Underwhelming display.
Maema struggled to unlock the Chippa defence and failed to make a meaningful impact on the game. He was substituted with 20 minutes left.
Proved to be the hero.
Shalulile ran at Chippa defenders with pace on the ball while also pressing them relentlessly off the ball. He positioned himself well when he scored the winning goal.
Put on a decent performance as he relentlessly pressed Chippa defenders and he combined well with his teammates having been introduced in the 70th minute.
A pair of fresh legs for Masandawana when he came on in the 70th minute and his sharp movement created problems for a tired-looking Chilli Boys defence on his first-team debut.
Came on with 13 minutes left and he wasn't involved much, but he did track back and help his side defend.
