Stepped up to be counted when he was needed. Onyango pulled off a fantastic save to deny Ghampani Lungu in the first-half, before denying Thamsanqa Gabuza and Moses Waiswa after the restart, while also commanding his area very well.

Denis Onyango - 7/10 

Tore the SuperSport defence to shreds with his movement and link-up play when pushed forward.Morena also played well defensively as he contained Iqraam Rayners, who had a quiet game.

Thapelo Morena - 7/10 

Kept busy by Lungu, who gave him a hard time in the left flank.Therefore, Lakay couldn't impact Sundowns' offensive movements like he usually does, but his delivery from set-pieces was good.

Lyle Lakay - 6/10 

The best player on the pitch as he produced an excellent performance.De Reuck was impeccable in defence and he did well to contain the troublesome Gabuza. Deservedly named Man of the Match.

Rushine De Reuck - 8/10 

Solid presence at the back against his former side. Kekana complimented De Reuck well in defence and he made some important clearances and interceptions.

Grant Kekana - 7/10

Mixed performance against their city rivals.Coetzee was one of the brightest sparks for Downs in the first-half, but his influence waned after the restart, with his mishit passes putting his side under pressure.

Rivaldo Coetzee - 6/10 

Also started well as he carried balls from midfield into attacking areas and combined well with his teammates.However, Mkhulise's influence waned as the game progressed and he was replaced by Mothobi Mvala.

Sphelele Mkhulise - 6/10

Flourished in his role as a playmaker. Zwane's incisive passes unsettled the SuperSport defence and he grabbed an assist after his delightful pass sent Peter Shalulile through on goal.

Themba Zwane - 7/10

Looked sharp in the opening stages of the game as he attacked the Matsatsantsa defence with speed.However, Kutumela picked up an injury and he was substituted in the 29th minute and he was replaced by Gaston Sirino.

Thabiso Kutumela - 6/10

Made some good passes and forward runs as one of the front three attackers.However, Maema looked tired after the restart and he was replaced by Mothobi Mvala.

Neo Maema - 6/10 

His directness caused problems galore for the SuperSport defence throughout the game.Shalulile timed his runs into the hosts' box very well and he scored with a good finish to take his tally to 12 league goals.

Peter Shalulile - 7,5/10

Burst into life after the restart having endured a quiet first-half.Sirino played some defence-splitting passes and he tracked back to help his teammates defend.

Gaston Sirino - 6/10

Came on in the 75th minute and he imposed himself in the middle of the park.Mvala helped Downs regain control of the game and he nearly scored with a thunderous shot which narrowly missed the target with goalkeeper Boalefa Pule rooted to the ground.

Mothobi Mvala - 6/10

Introduced in the 90th minute and it was too late to warrant a rating.
