    WHAT HAPPENED?

Magesi FC have been in excellent form, winning four of their last five matches under experienced coach Owen Da Gama, since taking over from Clinton Larsen, Da Gama has guided the Limpopo-based side out of the relegation zone.

They now sit in 11th place with 26 points and six games left to play, his leadership has brought stability to the team, and their performances have significantly improved. Da Gama also shared his thoughts on Orlando Pirates attacker Relebohile Mofokeng.

He believes the young star has the potential to play in Europe. The veteran coach watched Mofokeng live at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, where he scored his first goal for Bafana Bafana.

    WHAT DA GAMA SAID

"I was at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, and it was a very good game. Lesotho is never an easy opponent, but we had a well-balanced team," Da Gama said as reported by KickOff.

"I was very impressed with the performance, especially from the young Mofokeng. He was exceptional.

"I can see that he will be playing overseas very soon, the sooner, the better. The earlier our players go overseas, the more they can mature and learn the game.

"He has the potential to play in England or the Spanish league. I prefer the Spanish league for him because he is technically very gifted, while the English game is more rugged.

"That’s why many Brazilian players thrive in Spain, it suits their technical style. I truly believe that the sooner our players move abroad, the better it is for their development.

"I’m sure the chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, has plans for him, and he’s getting playing time," he added.

"I see Mofokeng becoming a legend in the future. He just needs to stay focused and maintain his discipline, and he will go very far.

"The biggest challenge for our players is discipline, once they become stars, it can go to their heads.

"So, he must remain grounded, keep his feet on the ground, work hard, and stay disciplined to achieve great success."
