It appears as though Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign Ajax’s Sebastien Haller, but could Manchester United still make a late move for the Cote d’Ivoire hotshot.

The striker may have struggled in the Premier League with West Ham United, but he has rebounded in style in the Dutch top flight, winning back-to-back Eredivisie titles with the Amsterdam giants.

Haller won the Golden Boot this season—establishing him as one of Africa’s prominent frontmen—and also excelled in the Champions League, breaking records aplenty as he ended the campaign with 11 goals.

Only Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski scored more, and the Red Devils may need to part with €40 million if they’re to scupper BVB’s deal for Haller.

  • Sénégal Kalidou KoulibalyGetty Images

    Kalidou Koulibaly

The centre-back has been heavily tipped for a move to the Premier League for several transfer windows, yet for various reasons, he’s always remained at Napoli.

Could that be set to change in the coming months?

More than ever before, Chelsea are desperate for some new defenders for the heart of their backline, having lost Andreas Christiansen and Antonio Rudiger already this window.

Koulibaly is still in his prime, and boasts the kind of experience that could help the Blues negotiate a particularly tricky period.

The likes of Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt are also being tipped as potential solutions for the Pensioners’ defensive conundrum.

One defender who Chelsea probably ought to be looking at as they look to fill the gaps in their backline is Burkina Faso’s Tapsoba, who impressed at the Africa Cup of Nations and continues to refine his game in the Bundesliga.

In the past, he’s been linked with a move to Arsenal, while Newcastle United are also understood to have identified the Bayer Leverkusen as a potential upgrade on their current defensive options.

Could Barcelona also be primed to make a move for the talented defender, who was part of the Stallions side that reached the final four of the Nations Cup earlier this year?

The Paris Saint-Germain defender may have moved clubs in three of the last four summers, but could he be set to switch clubs again?

After winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, he switched to Borussia Dortmund, before then testing himself in Italy with Internazionale where he won the Serie A title.

He followed that up with Ligue 1 success with PSG last term, and could now be bound for the Premier League.

Chelsea are understood to be monitoring the wideman’s situation as they look to bring fresh blood into their defensive unit, but would PSG really let him go?

  • Kalidou Koulibaly & Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Nigeria.Napoli.

    Victor Osimhen

According to reports in the Italian press, Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be circling for Napoli striker Osimhen.

While his current employers are being investigated regarding irregularities in his transfer to Naples from LOSC Lille, Osimhen’s future is being put in the spotlight, with the North London giants potentially on collision course to secure his services.

Having bagged 14 goals last term, Osimhen finally started demonstrating the quality that prompted Napoli to part with an initial €70 million to recruit him from Ligue 1.

  • Watford player Ismaila Sarr of Senegal.Watford.

    Ismaila Sarr

Unlike the other players on this list, Sarr has actually played in the Premier League before, having featured for Watford in two separate seasons…both ending in relegation.

His stock has fallen significantly over the last year—he was on the brink of a move to Liverpool in early 2021—but his talents in wide areas could still make the Afcon winner a useful asset to any Prem side.

The winger appears destined to leave Vicarage Road this summer, and while Liverpool no longer appear to be interested in his signature, the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham United are believed to be considering making a swoop for the West African.
