#1 Ian Otieno
The goalkeeper is expected to take Patrick Matasi's position in goal and prove his worth. He has been doing good in the Zambian league keeping more than ten clean sheets. This keeper has a challenge of removing Matasi from the goal but before that he has to show he can stop the Flames.

#3 Erick Ouma
Aboud Omar has been excellent for Kenya once called to duty but that does not mean 'Marcelo' is less talented. He is energetic and has always gives more than 100% on the pitch. Against Malawi, Ouma will be required to help in attack and bring crosses for the strikers to capitalize on.

#4 Anthony Akumu
It was surprising to see ‘Teddy’ on the bench against the Black Stars. Akumu is expected to provide the cover for defense and create chances from the team's own half. With Dennis Odhiambo, Ismael Gonzalez and Victor Wanyama fighting for the same position, Akumu has to work harder.
-
- Ken Okaka.
#5 Jesse Were
He is expected to take Michael Olunga's position in the striking department. Despite his perfect record in club level, the lanky striker has struggled while with the national team. He has to show he can be considered against Ethiopia and by doing that he has to score goals against Malawi.
