Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge could miss the 2018 Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot.
The Rwandan striker is currently two goals behind leading scorer Elvis Rupia, who has since moved to the Zambian Premier League.
Rupia is still leading the scorers' chart with 15 goals and K’Ogalo fans have been hoping that their lead striker would surpass the former Nzoia Sugar striker by scoring at least three goals in the next six games to win the award.
But that dream may not come to pass after Coach Dylan Kerr revealed to Goal that his key striker may miss a couple of games.
"Jacques Tuyisenge travelled to USA to attend a family wedding but his absence is not a worrying factor as he was not fully fit to start any game and so I would not have used him," Kerr told Goal.
That trip and national team assignment with Rwanda still to come for the unfit Tuyisenge, the dream of finishing ahead of Rupia is slowly becoming a mirage for K’Ogalo's goal poacher, who has 13 league goals to his name.
The AFC Leopards’ duo of Ezekiel Odera and Whyvonne Isuaza as well as Nicholas Kipkurui of Zoo FC are jointly second, all on 11 goals.
