Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo praises Harun Mwale after courageous show

Ulinzi Stars youthful defender Harun Mwale attracted praise from his coach Dunstan Nyaudo after a sterling display on his debut against Thika United.

The youngster showed no signs of nervousness in his maiden appearance at the top-flight stage. He, however, admitted that it was not an easy induction into the Kenyan Premier League.

Mwale replaced Omar Mbongi and the 20-year-old defender revealed that early goal by Elvis Nandwa helped him calm his nerves in his day one of the top flight.

“My debut was just fine though a bit shaky at the start. It became a bit easier when we got the goal; I am happy that it came very early and it helped us all to settle in the game,” Mwale told the club's website.

“The competition is there but given a chance I will give my best and leave it to the coach to decide. I know I am up against very experienced players, and I am learning from them every day,” he pointed out.

Nyaudo rated Mwale highly after he helped the Soldier to their first victory in five games.

Ulinzi Stars are currently fourth on the log with 33 points.
