Taifa Stars will meet a Ugandan side that will have Okwi, who plies his trade in Tanzania with Simba SC, at the Namboole National Stadium in Kampala.
While Tanzania players may have all the secrets on how to tame the 2018 Tanzanian Premier League top scorer, Okwi will be banking on his experience with both Simba and Yanga to help Ugandan Cranes to a second successive victory in the qualifiers.
“It is a challenge to play against opponents who understand your playing style but we are going to fight and make sure we get three points at Namboole,” Okwi told Daily Monitor ahead of the clash.
Having hit the back of the net 20 times in the Tanzania Premier League, Okwi is hopeful to carry his form with the national team.
"I believe we shall put up a good performance since we are playing at home.”
Cranes lead Group L with three points after their opening 1-0 triumph away in Cape Verde while Tanzania settled for a 1-1 draw with Lesotho.
