Uganda name 35-man provisional squad to face Ghana

The Cranes interim manager has revealed his provisional squad to face the Black Stars in the World Cup qualifiers

Uganda caretaker coach Moses Basena has announced a 35-man provisional ahead of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying game against Ghana in November next month.

The Cranes are sitting in second place in Group E with seven points, two behind Egypt and stand a chance to qualify for their maiden World Cup tournament.

According to the Ugandan FA's communication director Ahmed Hussein, the team will begin preparations on September 27 in the northern part of the country before the final squad will be released days later.

''The training will start on Wednesday 27 September, 2017 at 4pm at Namboole Stadium under the guidance of Basena and his technical team,'' he said.

''The coach will reduce his squad based on the arrival of foreign based players in camp. The players named will also get involved in the Uganda Cranes regional tour of Northern Uganda which will be the final tour of the year.''

In the other group game, Egypt will host Congo in Alexandria.

Defenders: Denis Iguma, Nicholas Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi, Isaac Muleme, Isaac Isinde, Muwanga Bernard, Hassan Wasswa, Timothy Awany, Tony Mawejje.

Midfielders: Geoffrey Kizito, Mutyaba Muzamiru, Masiko Tom, Ivan Ntege, Luwagga Kizito, Karisa Milton, Ochaya Joseph, Okwi Emmanuel, Miya Faruku, Idrisa Lubega.
