After reports emerged that they are giving two of their foreign players the sack, bottom-placed Pulau Pinang have announced the arrival of two new local players.

On early Tuesday morning, the club's social media revealed that Surendran Rasiah and Kuala Lumpur's Azidan Sarudin have joined them for training, perhaps hinting at their signing.

Azidan previously played for Kuala Lumpur before the mid-season transfer window, after having spent 2016 mainly on the sidelines following a long injury that led him to be cut by Pahang after the 2015 season ended. Prior to that, the midfielder played for Kuala Lumpur in his first stint with them, and then Selangor. If he does join the Panthers, he will be reunited with his former boss at Pahang, Zainal Abidin Hassan.

34-year old striker Surendran meanwhile has played for Selangor in two separate stints, as well as for Perak and Pahang.

In their friendly against Kelantan at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday, the Red Ants fielded several new names; including one foreign player who is already familiar to fans.

Zambian Australian attacker Ndumba Makeche started in the match, which Kelantan won 2-0. The 25-year old had previously played for Felda United in 2015 and Sarawak in 2016. In February this year he joined Indonesian side Bali United, but left less than a month later, as the club were reportedly unhappy with his performance.
