Sylvester Igboun scores in Ufa’s defeat to Spartak Moscow

The 27-year-old forward got the consolation as the Townspeople suffered their fifth loss in the Russian elite division

Sylvester Igboun was on target as Ufa lost 3-1 to Spartak Moscow in Sunday’s Russian Premier League encounter at Otkrytie Arena.

The Nigerian who made his 16th appearance for Sergei Semak’s men this season wasted no time in finding the back of the net after an assist from Bojan Jokic.

The joy was shortlived as Fernando levelled matter in the 37th minute as both teams went into the half-time interval all square.

In the second-half, Quincy Promes gave Massimo Carrera’s men their first lead courtesy of an assist from Andrei Eshchenko in the 63rd minute and Brazil international, Luiz Adriano sealed the victory just 11minutes before the final whistle.

Igboun will look to continue with this form when Ufa welcome Ural to Stadion Neftyanik for their next league match on November 19.
