Simon Mulama is set to take up the vacant Team Manager role at former Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards.

The post fell vacant after Ingwe parted ways with Gilbert Selebwa, who finally left the den after several months of speculation.

According to a letter from AFC Leopards seen by Goal, Selebwa agreed to terminate his contract with the club to pursue his coaching career. “As per the negotiation with you, the club has agreed to terminate your contract to enable you to pursue your coaching career.

“We would like to thank you for the services that you have offered to our club for the entire period that you have been the Team Manager. With this letter, both parties agree that no party will be liable to the other party in any way as the contract ended on mutual consent,” read a letter dated November 1 and signed by the club Secretary-General Oscar Igaida.

But Goal has since established that the club has made contacts with the former Kenyan international, who won the league with AFC Leopards in 1998 as the most likely replacement for Selebwa.

“Mulama is the man. He is set to take over when the season starts,” a source at the Den told Goal.com.

Assistant coach Tom Juma is also set to pave way for Marko Vasiljevic. Vasiljevic, who is an analyst and a fitness trainer, is part of coach Nicola Kavazovic backroom staff he came with from Township Rollers of Botswana.

Lawrence Webo has since replaced Mathews Ottamax as goalkeeper trainer.
