Guardiola's side will be shifting their focus to the Champions League this weekend after their 5-0 win over Burnley solidified their status as Premier League table-toppers, level on points with Liverpool but ahead on goal difference.

Manchester City are currently second Group F and will want to win against Shakhtar Donetsk to secure a top-two spot, falling behind to Hoffenheim in their last Champions League fixture 1-0 but the likes of Sergio Aguero and David Silva both netting to claim the victory.

The Ukrainian side have drawn both of their Champions League ties so far and will be buoyed by the form of new arrival Junior Moraes, who has netted 12 goals in 15 matches so far this campaign.

Shakhtar Donetsk will have a strong chance of progressing to the knockout phase of the tournament, however, should they manage to defeat Manchester City at home on Tuesday.

The two sides previously met in last year's Champions League with both sides winning their home fixture in the group stage.

Shakhtar are unbeaten in eight meetings with English opponents at home, while City have registered victory just once in three attempts in Ukraine – losing last season's away fixture 2-1.
