Following inspection done on Wednesday by officials from Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) together with PKNS FC, the lighting in the stadium has been deemed to have met the requirements necessary.

Thus, FMLLP has made the decision to approve night matches to be held in Shah Alam Stadium once again.

Since the start of the 2017 season, the home team of Shah Alam Stadium, PKNS have been only playing competitive matches in late afternoon kick-offs. A move to the cooler night surrounding will surely give better comfort to both the fans as well as the players.

In the time that PKNS has been made to play under the late afternoon sun, the Red Ants have only won twice of the five Super League home matches that were played at Shah Alam Stadium. The other three times saw them drawing one and losing the other two.

The first Super League match to be played under the lights at Shah Alam Stadium will be on Tuesday when PKNS welcomes the visit of Kedah.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 9pm on 9 May.
