Ghana midfielder Kingsley Sarfo claims his decision to snub Sweden for the Black Stars is a better choice for his career.

The 21-year-old, who currently plays for Swedish giants Malmo FF after joining from IK Sirius, initially turned down an invite from Kwesi Appiah in June with the intention to represent the European country.

He later rescinded his decision and has been named in a 26-man provisional squad to face Uganda in the Fifa World Cup qualifiers next month.

“I will always choose what’s best for me [and my career],” Sarfo told Aftonbladet.

“I’ve been in contact with Sweden and even submitted my documents but there is no particular reason [aside what I've earlier said] why I did not continue with the process to switch my nationality.

“I am very happy to get another call up from Ghana for the Uganda game, it will be exciting,” he added.

Sarfo's agent Nochi Hamasor has also revealed that Ghana Football Association has promised to take good care of his client after opting to represent the country.

“Ghana will receive Sarfo with open-arms” Hamasor said.

“We have been in contact with the Ghana Football Association and everyone has promised to take good care of him," he added.

Sarfo, who began his career with Kumasi-based amateur club Anokye Stars, is expected to join his teammates in Kenya where the Black Stars will be camping before travelling to Uganda on October 6.
