Samatta unlucky but his assist rescue Genk

Mbwana Samatta was in the starting lineups and played all 90 minutes while KRC Genk continued to pass through their worst start of the season as they were held in 1-1 draw by Royal at home.

Albert Stuivenberg's side, however, put in an impressive display against Mircea Rednic's charges and went on to claim a point thanks to Marcus Ingvartsen's equaliser.

Royal Excel Mouscron took the lead after 42 minutes as Dorin Rotariu with his right foot shot from the right side of the box to the top left corner assisted by Sebastien Locigno, prompting joy from the visiting stands.

The Tanzanian was unlucky that he couldn't score but the ball was always on his feet, irresistibly managed to run but fortune was not on his side.

Marcus Ingvartsen made no mistake nine minutes to stoppage, however, as he fired to the bottom right corner a deep Samatta's cross past Logan Bailly to level the scores in the 81st minute.

That's his 66th appearance for Genk in all competitions since January 2016 when he joined the club from DR Congo side TP Mazembe.

Samatta who was the Best African Football Player of 2016 made his 66th appearance for Genk, starting 38 with 24 matches from the bench.
