Enyimba coach, Usman Abdallah is optimistic that the People’s Elephant will take MFM to the cleaners on Wednesday evening in Calabar when they trade tackles because of the return of some their injured players.
The People’s Elephant left for Damaturu for their last weekend game with Yobe Desert Stars understrength squad due to injuries in the team but still got a valuable away point.
Abdallah in an interview revealed that they have been bolstered by the return of at least four of their regular players who didn’t travel with them for the tie.
“I want to inform you that we faced Yobe Desert Stars without some of our players that could have made further difference had they played the game but they are back now for the tie with MFM,” Abdallah told Goal.
“(Ikechukwu) Ibenegbu, Ifeanyi (Anaemena), Stephen Chukwude, Stanley Dimgba and few others didn’t travel to Damaturu when we got the draw there and we are happy that they are back for the game with MFM.
“I will say our tactics was spot on against Yobe Desert Stars. We didn’t play like the typcical Nigerian team that will go away to defend for almost the duration of the game and still end up losing.
“We tried as much as possible to soak the pressure and rely on counterattack to do the damage. We are going to face MFM with the confidence that we can get a home win on Wednesday,” he insisted.Enyimba are currently 12th in the league table with 18 points from 12 games.
