Raja Casablanca coach Juan Carlos Garrido not reading into recent setbacks ahead of Vita match

Raja Casablanca coach Juan Carlos Garrido is not letting the humiliation they suffered following elimination from the Moroccan Throne Cup affect them as they prepare to face AS Vita in the Caf Confederation Cup final, first leg at home on Saunday.

The Moroccan giants were booted out of the Throne Cup earlier this month by second division side Wydad Fes at the semifinal stage.

They also go into Sunday’s match smart from a 0-0 league draw with Hassania Agadir last Saturday.

“We continue to fight, we are competitive, we work, we suffer and we progress,” Garrido was quoted as saying by Footy Ghana.

“We are not robots, and it is impossible to always perform at the highest level. We make mistakes but we react.”

Having won just once this month and also recording another 1-1 draw with Ittihad Tanger, Raja Casablanca face a Vita side that eliminated North African opposition in the quarter-finals and last four of the Confederation Cup.

Raja and AS Vita met in the group stages of this tournament with the Congolese giants winning 2-0 at home and the second leg in Morocco ending 0-0.
