Posta Rangers banking on pre-season preps for unbeaten record

Posta Rangers are the only unbeaten team so far in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League season from 10 matches and head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has explained the reason behind the performance.

He says that his boys toiled in training before the commencement of the season and that their performance can be directly attributed to that vigorous training. "We worked on our combinations as well as the different strategies we would use during the season. I think that plan has worked because we’ve managed good results; you can see that."

The Mailmen are currently placed joint top with Gor Mahia but the coach is cautious on title ambitions insisting that it is still early to talk about the championship."A team does not win the title after five or six games, or 10. You need to be consistent throughout the season. If we finish this first half of the season in the top spot we will again have to think about the second leg. We are talking about 34 matches. That is a long way away."

"We also haven’t played any of the big teams yet, so it may be too early to start making permutations. When we have played a team like AFC Leopards or Gor Mahia or Tusker or Ulinzi Stars we shall be in a better position to discuss this matter," he told kpl.co.ke.

They have so far garnered 22 points from six wins and four draws.
