The world-record purchase of Neymar will not lead Paris Saint-Germain to let go of Julian Draxler, despite interest at Barcelona for the Germany international.

Goal understands that PSG have no intention of letting Draxler go this window, and that he will be given the chance to shine at Parc des Princes over the coming season.

Toulouse 22/1 to beat PSG

Draxler was named the best player at the Confederations Cup as Germany took the title with victory over Chile in the final, and his talents had attracted the attention of Barcelona as they attempt to fill the gap left by Neymar's €222 million transfer.

Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with the playmaker.

But enquiries over the 23-year-old have fallen on deaf ears at the Ligue 1 giants.

Even though the likes of Neymar, Javier Pastore, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura see PSG boast a wealth of attacking talent, they are not willing to sell Draxler just six months after he arrived at the club from Wolfsburg.

The rejection mirrors recent declarations from the player's agent, who had underlined his commitment to succeeding in France.

"Draxler will stay, he will not be moving anywhere this summer," Roger Whitmann had signalled to Bild

"Here the club is counting on him for the future and hopes he will stay in Paris."

Draxler appeared 24 times in all competitions for PSG after completing a move on January 3, scoring 10 goals and helping Unai Emery's charges to victory in the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.
