Marco Verratti is in town for the International Champions Cup and showcased his latest pair of boots, the Nike PhantomVSN

If you are ever looking for your next pair of footballing boots that can give you that perfect first touch then look no further than the Nike PhantomVSN. Nike’s latest design is set to give any player that extra level of comfort for one’s feet with it’s built in layer of cushioning. Combine that with an extra durable upper and you have a pair of football boots that can withstand the rigours of the beautiful game.

Subsequently another unique feature of the design is the Ghost Lace system. To improve upon traditional lacing, the Ghost Lace touchpoints were minimized and a one-pull construction implemented for equal tension all the way down the foot. The laces can then be discretely tucked away to provide an even striking surface.

Nike designer Phil Woodman created this model from the inside out. It has an internal Quadfit mesh bootie that conforms to fit almost any foot without overstretching and losing its shape. But don’t just take this writer’s word for it. In town was Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Italy’s midfield maestro, Marco Verratti who is in Singapore for the International Champions Cup, to give us his opinion on the boots.

Along with assistant Sporting Director Maxwell and teammate Christopher Nkunku, the trio put the boots through a series of tests and agreed in unison that for a football player, the boots were every football player’s dream.

“NIKE are always innovative in creating new models for us players,” mentioned Verratti.

“The boots (PhantomVSN) is fitting and it really feels like your foot and the boot are one. “

“With the new lace system and the design, it gives me maximum control and I really like it.”

Subsequently, the long list of Nike players planning to play in the PhantomVSN includes Philippe Coutinho, Mallory Pugh, Kevin De Bruyne, Fran Kirby, and Leon Goretzka.

So if you are looking for that extra edge over your opponents in the next match then this should be your weapon of choice. But to have that perfect first touch, one will need to make the first move to obtain it.

Nike will launch the PhantomVSN boot, priced at $399, online at nike.com on July 30 and in stores on Aug 2.
