Nigeria’s Denis Bonaventure scores twice in Club Brugge’s win

The 19-year-old was on song in his second outing for the Blue-Black in Saturday’s Belgian topflight opener

Nigeria’s Dennis Bonaventure scored a brace as he powered Club Brugge to an emphatic 4-0 victory over Lokeren in their first game in the Belgium-Division A clash.

Belgian, Brandon Mechele opened got the curtains raiser in the duel as early as the fifth minute for the Blue-Black.

Bonaventure struck in the 17th and 24th minutes before the break to take the game beyond the reach of their hosts.

Ivan Leko’s men were one-man down after Helibelton Palacios Zapata was given the matching order in the 32nd minute in a game in which five other players were cautioned.

Serbia international, Marko Miric piled more pressure on Rúnar Kristinsson’s side as he turned the ball into his own net to help seal the victory for Jan Breydel Stadium giants.

Club Brugge will be hoping to continue with this impressive form when they lock horns with İstanbul Başak on Wednesday’s Uefa Champions League encounter.
